1. What part of the state do you call home? Houston
2. How long have you been blogging? very sporadically for a couple of months. hoping to get in a groove soon! 
3. Why did you start blogging? to connect
4. What do you hope to get out of the Texas Women Bloggers community? to connect with other TX bloggers...us Texans are a special breed, right ladies? ;) 
5. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? as crazy as it sounds (because it sounds really crazy in my head) I hope to be commuting to TAMU and working on my bachelors. Gotta get my little guy in school first, though. :) 
6. If you could choose an actress to play you in your life, who would you choose and why? Janeane Garafalo...because she's unbelievably sarcastic and doesn't take herself seriously at all. 

7. Name 5 things on your Bucket List that you hope you’ll check off before you die?

• go on a mission trip as a family of 3 to the place where God started whispering to me about our little miracle
• finish my Bachelors at Texas A&M
• as cliche' as it sounds at the moment, run the Boston Marathon. This has been a dream of mine for years. 
• reach my goal weight & get a breast reduction (or un-boob job as my best friend and I call it!) 
• go to Ireland with my boys! 

8. If you could be known for one thing, what would it be and why?

9. Describe one “wow” moment in your life. Holding my son for the first time. After years of infertility, heartache, and thinking maybe it wouldn't happen, it did. And he was worth every step of the crazy journey! 
10. If you could “be” anything (no consequences, no fear), what would you “be”? A writer

I recieved the sweetest email from my dear friend Allison, telling me how excited she was that I was starting a blog. Having been inspired (in so many ways) by Allison for the past few (wait, maybe more like 11?) years, I decided it was time to get off my rear and really start this thing. She's subscribed to my blog and warned me that she's not great at commenting, but plans to read. So Allison, this is for you. Thank you for all of the inspiration, encouragement and love through the years. My nest may never have more than one baby bird in it, but I still aspire to be the kind of amazing mama I've seen you be to your babies all these years! :)

I adore Karen Ehman, so I knew by reading the phrase "The Joneses are Overrated" that this was going to be a good devotional.

Even better was the timing. My mom and I had just had a hilarious but serious discussion on Saturday about Facebook and the competitive/comparison games that people often play. Just hours after our discussion my mom sent me a text to let me know that at some point while babysitting my son for our date night, he had gotten ahold of her phone and posted a very serious string of gibberish sentences to her FB wall. Complete with punctuation as if he was saying something very deliberate and important. I told her that's what she got for having a FB page to begin with! ;) 

In all seriousness, this was an awesome devotion, as always, Karen. We've all seen the Pin on Pinterest that warns us not to compare our lives to someone's highlight reel on FB, and it's so true.

Howdy! and welcome to my blog! I have big plans for this little space on the web. I hope you'll stick around as I navigate my way through motherhood! 

*Make it Monday---before becoming a mom I was into crafts of all kinds. I'm making it my goal to share something crafty with you each Monday...mostly just as an excuse to have time in my craft room. 

*TILT---Things I Love Tuesdays....every Tuesday I'll share 3-5 things I'm loving this week. Links, products, pics, Pins. 

*Soul Food Wednesday--through our journey through infertility, my faith in God became more important than ever. So did my time with my Girlfriends in God. On Wednesdays I plan to share either a snippet from a devotional, whichever Bible study I'm doing with friends at the time, or one of the daily bits of inspiration I find online. 

*Tales from the Mother 'Hood---in all the years of praying for a baby I never could have guessed how hard and often downright hilarious (and ok, sometimes embarassing!) this job of being a mama is. We need to lift each other up with tips, encouragement, been there/done thats and even embarrassing moments now and then! 

*Friday Features--Because I'm totally ADD, this will be whatever the heck it ends up being each week! Links to Etsy shops I love (coughshopattoomuchcough), bargains, kid friendly events, etc
